Successful Blood Drives

The November 2006 blood drive had 52 people presenting to donate, resulting in 40 units of blood donated, far surpassing Inova's goal of 35 units. The October 2007 blood drive produced 32 units. A big THANK YOU to all of you who participated, including those who donated or tried to donate blood; those who staffed the registration desk; those who recruited donors; those who helped Inova set up; and those who provided overall guidance and support (i.e., Martha Adler for 2006 and Wendy E.and Rita C. for 2007).

2008 Blood Drive

It is not yet time sign up (and get your favorite time slot) for the annual blood drive in Fall 2008. Inova Fairfax will likely once again be at Temple Micah to administer the drive. Next year we anticipate the drive will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and we hope to fill every one of the sixty time slots available. General Information

Donors are urgently needed every day, seven days a week, to save lives. All healthy eligible people are encouraged to donate. You must be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate. Complete eligibility criteria are available at Inova.

In addition to willing blood donors, we need volunteers to help sign up blood donors. If you are available to staff a table on the 3 Sunday mornings before the blood drive to set up appointments for donors, please email blooddrive@templemicah.org.

We also need volunteers to staff the table on the morning day of the drive. If you can donate an hour or two of your time on a Sunday morning, or if you have questions about the blood drive, please email blooddrive@templemicah.org.

If you are a regular blood donor, please enlist a friend or colleague to join you this year. If you are a first time donor, this is a great way to contribute to a worthy cause.
