Israel at 60
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. Temple Micah will be observing this special year through a variety of programs and activities.
Sunday Morning Speakers Series- "Israel in the Mind of American Jews"
- October 7- Alvin Rosenfeld, professor of Jewish Studies, Indiana University, author of "Progressive Jewish Thought and the New Anti-Semitism" available on the American Jewish Committee website (AJC.org)
- December 15- Dennis Ross, Ziegler Distinguished Fellow Washington Institute for Near East Policy and former special Middle East coordinator for President Clinton
- January 27- Jeffery Goldberg, staff writer at the New Yorker, author of Prisoners: A Muslim and a Jew Across the Middle East Divide
- April 13- David Harris, Executive Director of the Israel on Campus Coalition (ICC)– a project of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, that is committed to promoting Israel education and advocacy on the American college campus.

Many other programs and activities are being planned for the year

- Friday evening, January 11: Israel oriented Shabbat Shalom Around Town

- Friday evening May 9: Special Yom Ha-atzmaut Shabbat Service
